Along Main, Elm, and Commerce Streets east of downtown. This was the 1920s birthplace of Blues in Dallas. Blind Lemon Jefferson, the best selling Blues artist of his day was discovered here. Deep Ellum was rediscovered by artists in the seventies. The area is an eclectic neighborhood of offbeat shops, art gallerys, and nightclubs playing Blues, Jazz, Rock and Alternative music. Sambuca and Trees are among the favorites.

There are clubs of all kinds and people of all kinds. The river walk is 20 feet below, 21 blocks of downtown San Antonio. The walk begins at the King William Historic District on the south and the Municipal Auditorium on the north. There are several ramp access points including the River City Mall, Hyatt Regency Hotel and Planet Hollywood. Open air cafes, hotels, ice cream shops, nightclubs, and taverns line the walk.
